Kartavya Bhawan: PM Modi will inaugurate Duty Bhavan, know why it has been made, what is specialty

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the duty building located at Duty Path in Delhi on Wednesday (August 6, 2025). The Prime Minister will address a public program on the duty path at around 6.30 pm. The PM who will inaugurate, is Duty Bhavan-3. It is a part of the extensive change of Central Vista.

This is the first of many upcoming Common Central Secretariat buildings, which aims to enable administrative processes to a systematic and tight governance. This project is a symbol of the government’s extensive administrative reform agenda. Currently, many major ministries are in many old buildings including Shastri Bhavan, Krishi Bhawan, Udyog Bhawan and Nirman Bhawan built between 1950 and 1970s.

Exercise to do various ministries and departments simultaneously
These old buildings have become quite disabled. In such a situation, the cost of repairing and maintenance of new buildings will be reduced. After the inauguration of Duty Bhavan-03, now various ministries and departments spread across Delhi have been prepared to promote innovation and cooperation. It will be a state -of -the -art office complex that will be spread over an area of about 1.5 lakh square meters and will have two basements and seven floors (surface +6 floors).

It will have offices of Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Rural Development, Ministry of MSME, Personnel and Training Department, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Principal Scientific Advisor (PSA). This new building will be a symbol of modern administrative structure, including IT-supported and safe workplace, ID card-based entry control, integrated electronic monitoring and a centralized command system.

Learn its specialty
The office will aim to achieve GRIHA-4 ratings with roftop solar, solar water heating, advanced HVAC, (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) systems and rainwater accumulation. The duty building treats and reuses waste water to meet a large part of the water needs. The construction materials and debris recycled in masonry and paving blocks in this building are used, mild and dry partitions in weight to reduce upper soil use and structural load.
