In the beautiful litigants of Kashmir, where women were once considered limited to the domestic realm, now the winds of change have started. Women are now making their mark in every field. They are breaking the stereotypes and proving that if the encouragement is elevated then no floor is impossible. In this episode, Rabia Yasin’s name has emerged as a new example. She is the first female truck driver of Kashmir, who is not only challenging the old thinking of society, but is also becoming an inspiration for women who dare to fulfill their dreams.
Rabia’s story looks like a film script. Rabia, a resident of Wakherwan area of Pulwama, was married to Imtiaz Ahmed Mir six years ago, who is a truck driver by profession. After marriage, Rabia did not even think that she would ever think of driving a truck, but says that life takes us where our real identity is hidden.

In the early days of marriage, she used to travel in a truck with her husband. During long journeys, she would see her husband driving a truck in the midst of dust, big vehicles on the highway and would take a new experience at every turn.

Gradually, interest for this work also started to wake up in him. One day she told her husband that why should I learn to drive trucks too? Imtiaz was shocked at first, but then he started training Rabia and started training him. Initially, Rabia found it difficult to handle heavy trucks, but when the intentions are strong, no challenge seems big.
The first truck drives, and life changed!
After hard work and practice for almost a year, Rabia finally caught the staring of the truck firmly. When he first drove a truck on the highway by himself, he aroused confidence in him. She realized that she was not just running the truck, but is taking a new step towards changing the thinking of the society. Now she along with her husband drives trucks in different states all over India. Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, do not know how many roads they have measured with truck wheels.
‘Earlier people used to tighten, now they are inspired’
Rabia says that earlier people used to tighten, but now those people are inspired to see me. When I leave the truck on the highway, many women come and ask me if they can do this too? And my answer is always the same- can exactly! Rabia has also made a special identity on social media. She shares stories of her journey, her challenges and her success on her YouTube channel named ‘Rabia Vlogs 786’. Thousands of people appreciate him and encourage every video of him.
Family became the biggest strength for Rabia
While many people in the society criticized Rabia, his family fully supported him. Especially her husband and in -laws always encouraged her. Rabia believes that women are not limited to the walls of the house, they can achieve success in every field, they should just get a chance.
Rabia’s message- every girl’s dream flight is necessary
Today, Rabia has become an example for not only Kashmir, but for those girls of the whole country, who leave their dreams incomplete for some reason. He says that now the time has gone, when the girls of Kashmir were limited to the house only. Today women are moving forward in every field and I want not every girl to be afraid to fly her dreams.
