Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir has been under drug addiction for a long time. A large number of youth are consuming heroin and cocaine in this district of South Kashmir. The youth have got a bad addiction to intoxication. Shopian police are continuously campaigning to break the back of drug smugglers. Under this, the police have attached property worth millions of drug smugglers while taking major action.
In Shopian district of South Kashmir, police have attached a 2 -storey house while taking action in the drug smuggling case. Shopian police have attached a 2 -storey residential house priced more than Rs 22 lakh. The police have also seized more than 14 lakh cash. This house is of drug smugglers Mudasir Ahmed Malik, Yaveer Ahmed Malik and Shahid-ul-Islam Malik.
The Shopian police took this action under Section 68-E and Section 68-F (1) of the Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act 1985. Police officials say that this action has been taken under the anti -narcotics drive being run in the district.
FIR was already registered against the accused
According to the police spokesperson, the attached property police station is associated with FIR No 36/2024. Police constables and magistrates were present at the scene at the time of action. This action has been done completely following the legal process. He said that, ‘Shopian police came to know during the investigation that the property was purchased from illegal money earned money.

According to the data, in the year 2024, the police registered a total of 56 cases in the drugs case. Shopian police seized a large number of banned drugs including cannabis, charas and heroin.
