Kashmir Pandit Demand: Kashmiri Pandits on Saturday hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led central government for not accepting their displacement from the valley three decades ago as ‘genocide’ and reiterated their demand for implementation of the ‘Margadarshan Resolution’.

Kashmiri Pandits, celebrating the 33rd Motherland Day in Jammu, also demanded increased relief measures, adequate security arrangements for PM-package employees working in the valley and creation of employment opportunities for the youth of the community in Jammu.

Demand reiterated in Motherland Day conference

A spokesperson of the displaced community said Kashmiri Pandits raised these demands in two resolutions passed at the 33rd National Motherland Day conference, which was hosted by Panun Kashmir, one of the leading organizations representing Kashmiri migrant Pandits. According to the spokesperson, the conference on ‘Kashmiri Hindus Caught Between Jihad and Genocide Denial’ was organized to commemorate 33 years of the ‘Guidance Resolution’, which was adopted by the community on this day in 1991, following a large-scale mass exodus from Kashmir. The spokesperson said the first resolution strongly condemns ‘genocide denial’ and calls for immediate measures to deal with the continuing terrorist attacks targeting communities in the valley.

Demand to create a separate union territory
