Two people were killed and several others, including a police personnel, were killed in the firing incidents in the city of Lexington in the US state of Kentki on Sunday. Kentaki Governor Andy Aashiyar confirmed this. The violence began with a traffic stop and ended at Richmond Road Baptist Church, where the suspected attacker was shot.
Governor Andy Aashiar wrote in the X post, ‘I am very sad to say that two people lost their lives in the firing at Richmond Road Baptist Church in Lexington. The other injured- including a Kentaki State Police jawan- is being treated in a nearby hospital. The attacker has also been killed.

The suspect allegedly shot a jawan of Kentaki State Police (KSP) and then ran towards Richmond Road Baptist Church in Lexington, where many people were later found injured. Kentki police said in the X post that one of his trapers took place at around 11:36 am with an encounter with the suspected attacker. He fired on the Trupener, in which he was injured, after which the attacker moved towards the church, where there was more violence.
According to the news website Lexington Herald-Leader, a Kentaki police jawan was shot at the Blue Grass Airport in Fayet County on Sunday morning. After this, the suspected Richmond Road ran towards the Baptist Church, which is about 17 miles (27 km) away, where many people were injured by bullet. The police managed to surround the suspect inside the church, later his body was recovered.

The identity of the suspected attacker has not been released yet and the officials are trying to understand what was the reason behind the incident. The motive behind this firing incident is not yet clear. Investigators are collecting details about the victims, suspects and any possible relationship.
