Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan expressed concern over the possibility of targeting Catholic churches on Saturday after passing the Waqf Bill from Parliament.

The CM has expressed concern over the mention of the property of the church in an article by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) mouthpiece ‘Organizer’. However, the organizer has removed the article from his website.

Vijayan said- It should be understood from the article of the organizer that the Sangh is targeting the Catholic Church after the Waqf Bill is passed. This gives negative indications and shows the mentality of RSS. In the article, the anti-religion majority of the Sangh is seen by communal spirit.

On the Waqf Bill, he said- it violates the constitutional rights of Muslim minorities. It seems part of the plan to target minorities and eliminate them in a phased manner. A democratic and secular movement should be done against this.

Citing an article of the ‘The Telegraph’ newspaper on the article of the organizer, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi said that now RSS is targeting Christians without losing time. I had said that the Waqf Bill currently attacks Muslims, but other communities will be targeted further. Only the constitution can save us from such attacks.
