Kerala Drug Bust Operation Clean Slate RAID Arrest Seizure News Anti Narcotics Kerala Police

Drugs seized in kerala: Kerala Excise Minister M.B. Rajesh has directed to intensify the campaign against drug trafficking in the state. In view of the increasing drug cases in the state, a special campaign called Operation Clean Slate was conducted under which 3,568 raids were conducted between March 5 to 12. During this time 50 joint inspections were also done in which the help of Police, Forest Department and Motor Vehicles Department was taken. In these actions, drugs worth Rs 1.9 crore were seized.

Under this special campaign, 33,709 vehicles were investigated, due to which 554 drug addiction cases were registered. During this time action was taken against 570 accused, out of which 555 were arrested and 27 vehicles were seized. Apart from this, 26 absconding criminals were also caught.

Strict eye on schools, bus stands and railway stations

Minister Rajesh instructed the officers to increase the surveillance on schools, colleges, bus stands and railway stations. Emphasis was especially emphasized to prevent the growing trend of drugs among students. During this period, 998 school complexes, 282 bus stands, 104 labor camps and 89 railway stations were investigated. The officials have been instructed to keep a close watch on the suspicious activities and take strict action if needed, so that the youth can be saved from drug addiction.

Huge amount of narcotics

During the campaign, a large amount of narcotics were seized including 64.46 grams MDMA, 25.84 grams of methmfetamine, 39.56 grams of heroin, 14.5 grams of brown sugar, 113.63 kg of ganja, 14.8 kg of ganja mixed chocolate and 10,430 liters of spirror. Apart from this, 931.64 liters of illegal foreign liquor, 289.66 kg tobacco products and 3,048 liters of wash were also seized. Minister Rajesh appreciated the Excise Department for this successful campaign and directed the officials to intensify such actions in future also.
