CSR Fund Scam: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday raided several places in Kerala in connection with the fake CSR Fund scam. In this case, the fraudsters made a false promise to give laptops, two -wheelers and home appliances at half a price and cheated their money from many people.

Official sources told PTI that Anandu Krishnan, the main suspected in the case, is being searched for institutions, trusts and individuals to get “money”, so that the income of crime cheated from poor people can be detected.

Sources said that some politicians, electronic dealers, automotive dealers and cooperative banks and a fertilizer manufacturing company are under investigation of the federal investigative agency. The agency suspects that at least Rs 450 crore was taken from depositors as part of the fraud gang.

Sources said that the purpose of the search is to find out the total number of victims, the amount collected and where these money has been diverted and parked. The case of money refinement has come out of an FIR of Kerala Police Crime Branch.

According to the complaints received by the police, the fraudsters made false proposals, claiming that the exemption was part of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities of various NGOs and charitable organizations. According to the police, the total amount cheated in these cases is about 37 crore rupees.

The police arrested Krishnan, a resident of Thodupuzha in Idukki district, on the charge of cheating people by giving scooters, sewing machines, home appliances and laptops at half a price. The state police is conducting extensive investigation into the scam, due to which complaints have been received from the entire state.
