New Delhi. Hanuman devotee South Africa’s spinner Keshav Maharaj has created history in Test cricket. Maharaj made this special achievement against Zimbabwe. Acting captain Keshav Maharaj became the first spinner of South Africa to take 200 Test wickets on the second day of the first Test against Zimbabwe on Sunday. Maharaj, 35, has been playing Test cricket for the last nine years and has gradually become the major spinners of the team in the Test format.
He achieved this feat in his 59th Test match. Keshav Maharaj has taken five wickets 11 times throughout his career. And took four wickets in an innings on six occasions. South Africa declared their first innings for 418 runs for 9 wickets. In response, Zimbabwe scored 251 runs. Sean Williams scored the highest 134 innings for him. The rest of the batsmen could not do special wonders. On the basis of the first innings, South Africa got a lead of 167 runs.
Keshav Maharaj has taken 631 wickets in 166 matches in first class cricket. In response to the first innings of 418 runs for South Africa’s nine wickets, Zimbabwe’s team was dismissed for 251 runs. In which Maharaj took three wickets for 70 runs in 16.4 overs. Vian Mulder took four wickets for 50 runs in 16 overs.
