35 -year -old veteran spinner Keshav Maharaj took 5 wickets for 33 runs in the first ODI against Australia. On the basis of Maharaj’s brilliant bowling, South Africa registered a stunning 98 -run win. Earlier, Maharaj first achieved the ranking of the number 1 ODI bowler in November 2023. When he surpassed Indian bowler Mohammad Siraj during the most recent edition of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup and since then he has remained in the top five places in the ranking.
