The FBI had released a photo in October 2024 claiming that the man seen in Indian Army uniform is Vikas Yadav.

Legal action may be taken against the accused Indian agent in the case of conspiracy to murder Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu. The committee formed by the Central Government has made this recommendation. A case is registered against the agent in New York.

The Home Ministry said that after a long investigation, the committee has submitted the report to the government. In this, it has been recommended to complete legal action against the Indian agent expeditiously. However, the name of the agent has not been disclosed. But it is being linked to Agent Vikas Yadav, who was arrested by Delhi Police in 2023.

On October 18, 2024, America had accused the Indian agent of conspiring to murder Khalistani Gurpatwant Singh Pannu. The American court had made two people accused. This included Nikhil Gupta and a person named CC1.

America’s intelligence agency FBI had identified CC1 as Vikas Yadav. His photo in Indian Army uniform was also released. FBI says that Vikas was associated with Indian Intelligence Agency RAW. Vikas was also accused of money laundering.

After this, the central government had formed a committee to investigate the agent’s relations with the drug mafia and criminal gangs.

Vikas Yadav was arrested in Delhi in 2023 Vikas Yadav, wanted in America, was arrested by Delhi Police on 18 December 2023. A Delhi businessman had filed a case of attempt to murder and kidnapping against him. After this the police arrested Vikas and one of his associates. The businessman had also told about the relationship between Vikas and gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Vikas got bail in this case in April.

Who is Gurpatwant Singh Pannu?

  • Gurpatwant Singh Pannu is originally from Khankot, Punjab. He currently lives in America and runs an organization named Sikh for Justice. He has citizenship of both America and Canada.
  • In 2019, the Government of India had banned Pannu’s organization SFJ under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act i.e. UAPA on charges of carrying out terrorist activities. Under the guise of referendum for Sikhs, SFJ was supporting separatism and extremist ideology in Punjab.
  • In the year 2020, Pannu was accused of promoting separatism and encouraging Punjabi Sikh youth to take up arms. After this, on July 1, 2020, the Central Government declared Pannu a terrorist under UAPA. According to media reports, this was the main target of this alleged conspiracy. However, this is not mentioned in the FBI charge sheet.

What is the matter of conspiracy to murder Pannu? Is Indian national Nikhil Gupta was arrested by the Czech Republic Police on June 30, 2023, for conspiring to murder Pannu. After this, Nikhil was extradited to America on June 14, 2024. A case was tried against Nikhil in America, where he declared himself innocent.

According to American agencies, the conspiracy to kill Pannu was hatched during PM Modi’s visit to America in September last year. A former Indian officer (Vikas Yadav) had asked Nikhil Gupta to plot the murder of Pannu.
