The case of suicide of a Nepali student is getting caught in the hostel of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. In this, after the intervention of Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, the Nepali Embassy has become active from the Odisha government to the police. Police said that a case has been registered against three directors of the university and two security guards on charges of misbehaving with the students.
The Odisha government has constituted a high level Fact Finding Committee to investigate the matter. In this committee, Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department, Principal Secretary of Women and Child Development Department and Secretary of Higher Education Department have been made members. This committee will investigate the death of the student and then the misbehavior of the protesting students. Necessary steps have already been taken in this matter.
A student arrested on the tahrir of the cousin of the deceased
In this case, a case has been registered against an accused Advik Srivastava at the Infosity Police Station in Bhubaneswar on the Tahrir of Siddhanta Siddhal, cousin of the deceased Prakriti Lammal, under Section 108 of the Indian Justice Code. He is being questioned in custody. At the same time, a case has been registered against KIIT’s two security guards Ramakant Nayak (45) and Jogendra Behera under sections 126 (2)/296/115 (2)/3 (5) of BNS.
A KIIT hostel official apologizes
A KIIT hostel official has apologized for his remarks about Nepal while handling the student protest. He said, “My intention was never to humiliate anyone. If I have unknowingly hurt someone with my words, then I am deeply sorry.” At the same time, the protesting students have demanded to form an organization. He says that he wants an independent organization, who can protect them when needed.

The father of the deceased student said- there is trust in the government-police
Sunil Lamsal, father of the deceased student, said, “I have lost my daughter. Many other children are studying here. It is learned that some students were expelled from their hostel. This is not correct. This incident should not be repeated. These people go to Nepal and call students to study here. The institute has treated him badly. “He expressed confidence in the government and the police to get justice on his daughter’s death.
KIIT claims, suicide due to love affair
He said, “I sent my daughter here for higher education. We hope that the government will ensure justice. We have confidence in the government and the police administration here. We hope to get justice.” At the same time, KIIT had said in its statement, “There is a doubt that the girl had a love affair with another student and would have committed suicide for some reason.” The cousin of the deceased claimed that a student was blackmailing.
