Bengaluru Suicide Case: In Karnataka’s capital Bengaluru, an engineer and his wife committed suicide after allegedly killing two minor children in a rented house. Police said on Monday (January 6, 2025) that the deceased have been identified as Anoop Kumar (38), his wife Rakhi (35), their five-year-old daughter and two-year-old son.
Police suspect that the couple first poisoned their children and then committed suicide by hanging themselves. According to the police, the couple was found hanging in their house on Monday morning. The reason behind the suicide is not yet known. Anoop Kumar worked as a software consultant in a private company. This family, resident of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, was living at the present address for the last two years.
‘Fraud is the reason behind suicide’
Police sources said that the incident came to light on Monday morning when her maid came to her house. When she did not get any response even after repeated attempts, the woman informed the neighbors and they informed the police. When the police entered the house, the bodies were found. He told that financial transactions are being said to be one of the reasons behind the suicide. It is being told that Anup Kumar had lent money to someone for business or land deal, but he was defrauded.

Sources said that he has written an e-mail to his brother in this regard, which is yet to be confirmed. He told that the couple was also worried about their daughter, who is said to be disabled. However, the real reason has not been known yet. Central Bengaluru Deputy Commissioner of Police Shekhar H. Tekkannavar told reporters that they have informed the family of the deceased and are waiting for their arrival. He said that a case has been registered and investigation is going on.
