New Delhi. Indian star wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul has rejected the opportunity to become the new captain of Delhi Capitals. According to a report by news agency IANS, the 32 -year -old right -handed batsman was proposed to the franchise owners to captain the Delhi team, but Rahul rejected it, saying it. KL Rahul has first captained Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants. In the mega auction of IPL 2025, the Delhi franchise signed for Rs 14 crore. Akshar started the captaincy for Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2024 season. He captained the team in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, in which Rishabh Pant was not allowed to play due to over-per-rate crime. Akshar, a member of the Indian teams who won the T20 World Cup in 2024 and the Champions Trophy in 2025. So far, he has scored 1653 runs by playing 150 IPL matches, as well as taking 123 wickets. He made his debut for Punjab Kings in the 2014 season in the IPL and joined Delhi Capitals in 2019.
