Knife attack in South London, 5 people injured, accused detained

Croydon Stabbing Case: Five people were injured in a knife attack incident in Croydon, London on Thursday (January 23, 2025) morning. According to the report of Washington Post, this attack took place in a warehouse located near Asda store. The Metropolitan Police arrested a suspect immediately after the incident.

According to the London Ambulance Service, one person was admitted to a major trauma center in London in a serious condition. Four others were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment with non-life-threatening injuries. Ambulance teams, paramedic teams, incident response officers and London Air Ambulance have been deployed to provide immediate help to the incident site. A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said, "Upon receiving information about the incident at 10:21 am, we dispatched multiple resources to the scene and treated all five injured."

Police and investigation status
The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that the attack took place at a warehouse near an Asda store. However, the purpose of the attack is not yet known. Initial reports said it was outside a supermarket, which was later corrected.

Other incident in context
According to the police, another violent incident had occurred just hours before this attack. This attack was carried out with a knife in Germany, in which two people died and three others were injured. The suspect in the Germany incident was undergoing mental treatment, later he was arrested.

Earlier also, a girl student was brutally murdered while going to school in London, Britain.  The age of the student was only 15 years. However, after the incident, London Police arrested a minor accused. The girl was a student of John Whitgift School, a private girls’ school in Croydon.
