Alipur court has sent Manjit Mishra and two other accused to custody till 8 July.
Police have made new revelations in the Kolkata Law College gang rape case. Investigation has revealed that after the incident, the main accused Manjit Mishra and his companions (Pramit Mukherjee and Jab Ahmed) drank alcohol in the college guard room for hours.
Security guard Pinaki Banerjee threatened that he should not tell anyone about the incident. After this, EM went to eat at a dhaba on the bypass. Then returned to their homes.
According to the police, when Manjit Mishra realized the seriousness of the situation on 26 June the next day of the incident, he contacted an influential person living in the Deshpriya Park area of South Kolkata. The person had helped him earlier too. However, this time he advised to withdraw from Manjit.
On June 25, a student was gangraped at South Kolkata Law College. The main accused Manjit Mishra is an alumni from here. The remaining 2 accused are current students. The main accused Manjit Mishra, Jab Ahmed and Pramit Mukherjee were arrested on 26 June.
Manjit turned around across the city, sought help from many people
The police officer said that Manjit tried to seek help from several people (mentors). For this, he wandered in different parts of the city Rashbihari, Deshpriya Park, Gariahat, Fern Road and Balliganj station road. The location of the mobile tower revealed that he had also met someone near the police station.
Investigation revealed that the entire plan of gang rape was already made. The call detail record (CDR) revealed that there was a continuous conversation between the three accused for several days before the incident.
