An FIR has been lodged against West Bengal Education Minister St Mantu, his driver and TMC leader Om Prakash Mishra in the commotion case at Jadavpur University in Kolkata. A case has been registered in several sections including physical attacks, threats.
According to Kolkata Police, action has been taken after a complaint of a university student. The student was injured in the incident on 1 March. In this case, on Wednesday, the Calcutta High Court had asked to register an FIR based on the complaint of the agitating students.
In fact, SFI and other students were demonstrating at the SFI and other students fronts campus to demand immediate student union elections at Jadavpur University. Then on March 1, the Education Minister of the state arrive at a program of the university. Students came to meet him and handed over the demand letter.
It was claimed that the ministers started sitting in their car without listening to the students. Meanwhile, hundreds of students surrounded the car and the students ran behind the moving car. Some students climbed on the bonnet of the car. The car’s windscreen broke. Two students were injured after coming under the car. He had to be admitted to the hospital.

FIR lodged after HC order The FIR was registered exactly a day after the order of the single-judge bench of the Calcutta High Court in the Jadavpur University Hungama case. On March 5, the court told the Kolkata Police to not only take action on the complaints of the West Bengal College and University Professors Association (WBCUPA) associated with the Trinamool Congress, but also file an FIR on the complaints of the agitating students. Also, Justice Tirthankara Ghosh said- The state government should present a detailed report on the matter.

Student’s father said- Police work should be fair in democracy Amit Roy, father of Indranuj Roy, a student injured in the uproar on March 1, said- Police administration should work democratically in a democratic country. If this does not happen then it is against democracy. The order of the Calcutta High Court is proof that people still trust the judiciary.
Basu said- Ram and Bam joined hands Basu said- Ram and Left joined hands to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere on the college campus. He assaulted a member of our members. On the incident, TMC General Secretary Kunal Ghosh said- A section of the students abused a professor Pragu Mukhopadhyay. Those who made fun of him will be tightly dealt with. The etiquette of the ruling party should not be considered weakness.
SFI leader said- TMC people created a ruckus SFI leader Kaushiki Bhattacharya said- Students wanted to discuss with Basu only, their only demand was that the student union elections should be held as soon as possible. We did not resort to violence. It was the outskirts of TMC, who along with some of their supporters on the campus attacked our workers and used abusive language against us.
