Manojit mishra: Monojo Mishra, the main accused in the Kolkata Law College rape case, was living separately from his father Robin Mishra for about 5 years. Despite being just 4 houses in Kalighat, a priest by profession, Robin ended his relationship with his son’s continuous involvement.
According to the Times of India report, he emphasized that if his son is guilty of some wrongdoing then he should be held accountable. The priest by profession, the father said that let him fight his case. Let the law do your work. The victim is also someone’s daughter. If he has done this, he should be held accountable for his work.
Removed from the Trinamool unit of the college due to disturbance
Monojo, interested in the law, had deepened in campus politics and was an active member of TMC. Sources said that Mishra took admission in 2007 and graduated in 2012, but left studies before. He admitted to BA LLB in 2017 and was allegedly removed from the leadership of the Trinamool unit of the college due to the nuisance in 2021, but later became a contract employee.
An alumni who was the batchmate of Monojat said that we had 120 seats and Manjit was the 121st candidate and everyone in the campus knew about it, but no one could do anything due to his political relations.
Used to beat people by drinking alcohol
Monojit’s personal life has been full of turmoil. He lived alone after his mother and sister left and his grandmother died in 2023. The neighbors of Kalighat call him a miscreant, often involved in quarrels and disturbances. A neighbor recalled that Monojo alias Papai was always a nuisance. He used to fight by fighting and drinking alcohol.
Another neighbor said that one of the co -accused shown on TV on Friday created a ruckus after drinking alcohol at home a few days ago. The other said that Manjit’s girlfriend is a lawyer who often came to his house.
Many allegations of molestation and harassment, police never took action
Monojit’s political journey has been full of controversies. He was involved in vandalizing the principal’s office in 2017, which was dissolved the Trinamool unit of the college. Sources said that at that time there was a power struggle between Monoj and two other leaders. Despite the absence of the official unit, he again achieved impact as a Trinamool leader.
Sources said that there were many allegations of molestation and harassment against Monojat at Gariahat police station and town police station, but no action was taken.
