Kolkata law college case: The Trinamool Congress leaders have now got rid of the Kolkata Law Student gang rape case. TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee posted his own party in the dock by posting on X on Saturday (June 28, 2025). He said that I completely disagree with the post done by All India Trinamool Congress on X.
Banerjee said through his post that they are indirectly supporting the leaders who are saving these criminals? Till immediate action is taken against the leaders responsible, only academic statements will not bring any real change. Even more unfortunate is that some leaders who emerged after 2011 are under question in such crimes.
The TMC MP said that I also want to keep myself away from those who are encouraging these criminals or giving protection. To understand the intentions behind my words and statements, there is a need for a certain level of moral and intellectual coordination, which is unfortunately missing.
What did All India Trinamool Congress say?
In a post conducted by All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) on Saturday, it was said that the comment made by MP Kalyan Banerjee and MLA Madan Mitra about the heinous crime in South Calcutta Law College was his personal statement. The party separates itself from their statements and strongly condemns it.
In the post done by AITC, it has been said that the views of the two leaders do not reflect the position of the party in any way. Our attitude is firm. We have no tolerance for crimes against women and we demand the harshest punishment for all those involved in this heinous crime.
