Former West Indies captain Craig Brathwaite included in the list of players playing 100 Tests
Right -arm opening batsman Brathwaite made his Test debut against Pakistan in 2011. He has captained the West Indies in 39 Test matches, which is the fourth highest for any player. Brathwaite has become the 10th West Indies player to play 100 Test matches and the 82nd player in total.
Craig Brathwaite’s big achievement
Former West Indies captain Brathwaite has become the first player in the world to complete 100 Tests in this format after the start of T20. The 32 -year -old Brathwaite has not only played T20I for the West Indies, but he did not play a 20 -over format in domestic cricket nor did he participate in any franchise league.
A total of 32 players have completed 100 Test matches after the first T20 match was played in 2003. Cheteshwar Pujara is the only other player in this list who has never played T20I for his country. Pujara has played the lowest ODI (5) in this list, while Brathwaite is in second place (10).
Unwanted records of Craig Brathwaite
Brathwaite’s batting average is the worst among the 100 Test players. He is the only top-6 batsman in this list whose batting average is less than 35. Out of 82 players playing 100 Tests, 58 have batted in the top-6. Of these, only 12 have played 100 matches as an opener and Brathwaite is one of the two players whose average is less than 30.
