After this, the protesters set fire to many trains and buildings. In the action of the security forces, 4 were shot dead and 90 people were injured. After this, curfew was imposed indefinitely in the district. The administration arrested social activist Sonam Wangchuk, who was the face of this demonstration. He is kept in Jodhpur Jail.

Booking is not being done due to internet shutdown
Mobile internet services are closed in the entire area. Due to this, bookings are being canceled and tourists and local people are facing problems. Naseeb Singh, a hotel manager, told the news agency PTI that advance booking has been canceling for the last one week. There is a shortage of goods due to the closure of the city.
Markets are closed after curfew, causing damage to traders.
Tourism was also affected by Pahalgam attack
Local transporter Riggin Dorje said the April Pahalgam attack affected the tourism of Ladakh badly. That incident stalled everything. Tourists started coming only a month after Operation Sindoor. But now Leh violence has created more trouble.
A local hotel owner said that they are early praying for normal situation because every indefinite day takes away the earnings of thousands of families, who depend on tourism.

- The CBI has also started investigation in the Foreign Funding (FCRA) case against Vangchuk’s NGO Himalayan Institute of Alternatives Ladakh (HIL). Hial is also accused of violation of foreign donations law (FCRA). The CBI team is investigating the accounts and records of the NGO.
