A high speed XUV car hit the leopard crossing the road on the state highway near Jagdevpur village of Bhira police station area in Lakhimpur Kheri district. The collision was so tremendous that the leopard died on the spot. The accident occurred between 10:30 and 11 am last night.
This road leading to Dudhwa Tiger Reserve is often the way for the movement of wildlife. After the accident, the car escaped from the spot. Local villagers informed the forest department, after which the team of the department reached the spot. XUV number plates and plastic pieces were recovered from the scene.
