More than 1.53 crore devotees took a bath in the Sangam on the last day at the Samagam Mahakumbh of faith. 1.53 crore devotees bathed on the last day
According to the Uttar Pradesh government, 1.53 crore people took a holy dip by 8 pm on the last day on Wednesday. The government said that from January 13, 66.3 crore people have come to Prayagraj, this number is more than the population of all countries except China and India.
Before the commencement of Mahakumbh, the UP government had estimated 40-45 crore devotees to arrive in Kumbh, because in the year 2019, 24 crore people took a dip in the confluence in Ardh Kumbh. But this record broke in 2025. According to this figure, more than 1.5 crore devotees took a dip in the holy confluence every day in Mahakumbh. However, the government said that we have made arrangements according to 100 crore people in Mahakumbh.

Apart from this, Chief Ministers of several states including Union Ministers also earned a virtue by taking a dip in the confluence. At the same time, more than 400 VIP protocols were released in Mahakumbh till now.
This time 9 lakh saints and 10 lakh Kalpwasi also lived in the fair area in Mahakumbh. More than 4 lakh tents were installed in the fair area and 1.5 lakh more toilets were built, including 350 mobile toilets. Apart from this, many big pandals and more than 50 thousand temporary ashrams were made for the akharas and saints.
30 crore devotees reached Mahakumbh by train
The saints of the Akhara participated in three of the total six ‘baths’, known as Amrit Snan – Makar Sankranti (14 January), Mouni Amavasya (29 January) and Basant Panchami (3 February). Although it was not a nectar bath, the Mahashivaratri bath was the last of a total of six ‘baths’, the other two Paush Purnima (13 January) and Maghi Purnima (11-12 February). Reports claimed that more than 30 crore devotees reached Mahakumbh by train to take a dip in the Sangam. Along with this, delegates from 73 countries and 50 lakh foreign nationals also took a dip in Mahakumbh.
30 devotees died
On January 29, during the second Amrit bath, a situation of chaos and tragedy arose, causing a stampede. 30 people allegedly died in this stampede.
The fair area was 160 times larger than the largest stadim
The Mahakumbh region was in 4 thousand hectares, it was 160 times larger of the world’s largest stadium. A record 25 sector was built in the Mahakumbh Mela area. 42 ghats were built within a radius of 13 km. There were also ten pucca ghats in 42 ghats. 30 pantoon bridges were also built to cross the Ganges-Yamuna. A total of 50 thousand security personnel built separately for the Mahakumbh Mela were built in the fair area.
State officials said 37,000 police personnel and 14,000 home guards have been deployed in Mahakumbh for security arrangements, while 2,750 AI based CCTVs, three water police stations, 18 water police control rooms and 50 watch towers were installed.
