Abhishek Gupta (25) was a resident of Kachora village in Sikandararau in Hathras. He opened the TVS bike showroom on 25 August in Khair, Aligarh. His father Neeraj Gupta used to work as an agent.

On 1 October, the police arrested Mohammad Fazal, a resident of Gonda Road Nevari, in the murder case. During interrogation, he said- About one and a half months ago, he met his alleged Mahamandaleshwar Dr. Annapurna Bharti alias Pooja Shakun Pandey and her husband Ashok Pandey.
Both of them had shown Abhishek’s photo and said to end it. I included Asif of my village in the case. The deal was fixed for 3 lakh rupees. Ashok gave us 1 lakh rupees as advance. After this, we shot and killed him with a gun.
Police arrested Asif, who shot Abhishek on Friday (October 3), from a village near Delhi-Kanpur. He was trying to leave UP and escape. He was caught with the help of Criminal Intelligence and Surveillance team. The accused has confessed to killing Abhishek.
