Maharashtra: CM Devendra Fadnavis relief from Bombay HC, petition challenging victory in assembly elections dismissed – CM Devendra Fadnavis Gets Relief from Bombay HC Petition Challenging Victory in Assembly Elections Dismissed NTC

Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court has given great relief to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. On Friday, the High Court bench dismissed the petition challenging the victory in their 2024 assembly elections from Nagpur South-West seat.

Congress candidate Prafulla Vinod Gudde filed a petition after the defeat in the assembly elections, in which he was accused of procedural flaws and corruption. The bench of Justice Praveen Patil heard this petition.

In the 2024 Maharashtra assembly elections, Prafulla Vinodrao Gudhe lost against Devendra Fadnavis by a margin of 39,710 votes against Devendra Fadnavis in Nagpur South-West constituency. Gudde, in his petition, demanded the cancellation of this election result from the High Court, claiming that many mandatory provisions were not followed.

Other petitions were also rejected

The petition cited procedural irregularities and alleged corrupt practices. However, the High Court dismissed the petition on technical grounds.

Pawan Dahat, the owner of the hoove, said that the petition was dismissed because the petitioners were not personally present at the time of filing the petition. Dahat said, “We are in the process of filing an appeal against this decision in the Supreme Court.”

At the same time, along with Gudde’s petition, the High Court on Friday rejected four other petitions which were challenging the election of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs Mohan Mate, Sudhir Mungantiwar, Devrao Bhongle and Kiritakumar Bhangadia. In these petitions, allegations of equal procedural irregularities were made, but all the petitions were dismissed on technical grounds.
