In Satara district of Maharashtra, the police on Thursday scrutinized a long investigation at the house in Pune, former IAS officer Prabhakar Deshmukh in connection with the arrest of a woman. A team from Dahiwadi police station went to Deshmukh’s house in Koregaon Park and stayed there for three hours, but Deshmukh did not meet there.
The Satara police recently arrested a woman, who had made allegations against Cabinet Minister Jayakumar Gore. The woman had allegedly forcibly recovered Rs 1 crore. According to the police, Deshmukh was allegedly in touch with the arrested woman.
Since the police could not meet Deshmukh, they questioned the former bureaucrat, their domestic assistants, an electrician and the guard of the building where the former IPS officers live.
The police officer told PTI that the Dahiwadi police has decided to interrogate Deshmukh, as they want to know why they contacted the woman? The police officer said that his search is going on.
Police say that further action will be decided after recording his statement. Earlier, the BJP minister had claimed that the woman accusing him of harassment had tried to make money from him to settle the case.
According to the police, the woman had demanded Rs 3 crore from the minister to finish everything and she was arrested while taking Rs 1 crore out of the total amount. The investigation of this case continues.
