South Korea Plane Crash: A major plane accident occurred in South Korea on Sunday (29 December). Reuters quoted Yonhap news agency as saying that a plane carrying 175 passengers and six crew members skidded off the runway and hit a wall at South Korea’s Muan International Airport.

Yonhap quoted a fire department official as saying that 179 people are feared dead in the plane crash. Only 2 people could be rescued.

Accident happened during landing

According to the report of Yonhap News Agency, this Jeju Air plane was returning from Thailand. This accident happened at the time of landing. An official of Muan Airport said that efforts are being made to control the situation. At the same time, fire officials have reportedly said that they have extinguished the fire at Muan International Airport in South Korea. According to Reuters, two people have been found alive as rescue operations continue at Muan Airport.

According to the report of Yonhap News Agency, it is believed that the accident occurred due to contact with the bird, due to which the landing gear malfunctioned. This plane was trying to land at Muan Airport.
