Star shooter Manu Bhakar’s name has been recommended for Padma Shri. Sports Ministry source gave this information to Dainik Bhaskar.
The 23 -year -old shooter applied for the fourth largest award in the country 4 days ago. Last year, the award was received by veteran spinner R Ashkin and former hockey goalkeeper PR Sreejesh.
Manu was awarded the Khel Ratna by President Draupadi Murmu on 17 January this year. Manu Bhakar won a double Olympic medal at the Paris Olympic Games in August-September last year.
She finished third in 10 meter air pistol individual and mixed doubles. On the basis of his two medals, India won a total of 6 medals in the Paris Olympics.

Manu gets bronze in Asian Championship
Manu Bhakar has won the bronze medal at the ongoing Asian Shooting Championship in Kazakhstan. Manu Bhakar has finished third in the final of the woman 10 meter air pistol with 219.7 points.
In the finals, Maa Chiyanke of China scored 243.2 and won the gold medal. At the same time, Yang Jeen of South Korea has won the silver medal with 241.6 points.
Manu along with Suruchi Singh and Palak Gulia also got India bronze at the team event.
