Bihar Police has rescued 271 such girls who were pushed into sexual abuse and body trade by conducting special search operations in various districts of the state in the last six months. Police officials gave information about this campaign on Thursday.
Bihar Police officials told PTI that a total of 506 boys forced to allegedly bonded during this period have also been rescued.
A statement issued by the police headquarters said that 153 girls of the rescue girls were facing exploitation and were being forced to dance in orchestra groups, while 118 were pushed into body trade since January 2025.
The police have so far arrested 191 people including 23 women in this regard. The statement of the Bihar Police said that minor girls and boys were rescued after a joint search by members of police and NGOs in Rohtas, Siwan, Saran, Betia, Gopalganj and Begusarai. Most of the victim girls are residents of Nepal, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Odisha, Delhi, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh.
The police statement said that at least 231 FIRs have been registered in various districts to forcibly push girls into body trade and 14 FIRs have been registered in the orchestra groups regarding forcible dance and exploitation. Further investigation is going on in this matter.
