Hashim Musa, the mastermind of the Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir and the top commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET), has finally been killed by the Indian Army. The encounter took place on 28 July in Lidwas area of Srinagar. Now pictures of this encounter have come out.

Pahalgam attack (22 April 2025): 26 tourists were attacked by five terrorists in Bisaran Valley of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. Most of them were Hindus. A Christian tourist and a local Muslim were also killed. M4 carbine and AK-47 were used in the attack. The Resistance Front (TRF), which is the pawn of Lashkar, took responsibility first, but later refused.
Sonamarg Tunnel Attack (2024): Seven people were killed in this attack near Z-Morh Tunnel in Sonamarg, including six laborers and a doctor. This attack was also carried out by Lashkar -related terrorists. Hashim Musa’s name was revealed in it.
Who was Hashim Moses?
Hashim Musa, also known as Solomon Shah Musa Fauji, was a dangerous commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba. His story is something like this …
- Previous background: Hashim Musa was the para-kando of Pakistan’s Special Service Group (SSG), which is a special training army unit.
- Lashkar included: In 2022, he infiltrated India and joined Lashkar. Many attacks were conspired.
- Mastermind of attacks: He had a big role in the planning and examination of the Pahalgam attack. He was present in the Bisaran Valley since April 15 and was of Reiki (espionage) for seven days.
- Sonamarg Connection: He also led in the Sonamarg tunnel attack, in which seven people died.
- Hiding place: He was hidden in the forests of Dachigam and Lidwas, from where he was trying to escape to Pakistan.
The army had placed a reward of Rs 10 lakh for capturing or killing Hashim Musa, as it was involved in several attacks (such as Ganderbal and Baramulla).

- Preparation: The army tracked Hashim’s location with drones, thermal imaging, and human intelligence (Humint). His presence was revealed in the forests of Lidwas.
- Encounter: On the morning of 28 July 2025, the army surrounded the area. Hashim and his two colleagues started firing, but all three were killed after an encounter of 6 hours.
- Weapons and evidence: AK-47, grenade, and IED (bombs) were recovered in the encounter. Pakistani passport and satellite phone were also found from Hashim, which shows contact with ISI.
- Photos: Photos of the Lidwas encounter were revealed, in which the bodies and weapons of the slain terrorists are visible. These pictures are proof of army success.
