The Taliban says that they respect the rights of women according to Islamic law and their interpretation of local customs and are internal affairs that should be addressed at the local level. In a statement, the MCC, responsible for the rules of cricket, said that the initial focus of the refugee fund will have to raise money to provide safe training facilities, educational opportunity and passage of development.
England and Wales Cricket Board have also extended their hands for help. ECB Deputy Chief Executive Claire Connor said, “The cricket community should take action to support the brave Afghan women and give hope that cricket can be a game for any woman or girl.”
