MCLEODGANJ tsuglagkhang dalai lama said he Hopes to live for another 30 40 years more to serve people

Dalai lama: Tibetan Buddhist Guru Dalai Lama on Saturday (July 5, 2025) put an end to the rumors going on about the announcement of his successor, saying that they hope that they will live 30-40 years to serve people.

Speaking at the longevity prayer ceremony before his 90th birthday on Sunday at the main Dalai Lama Temple (Tsugakhang) located in McLeodganj, Dharamshala, he said that he has a clear indication that Avlokiteshwar’s blessings are with him.

‘I have the blessings of Avlokiteshwar’

According to the report of the news agency PTI, the Tibetan Dharma Guru Dalai Lama said that looking at many predictions, I think I have the blessings of Avlokiteshwar. I have done my best till now. All your prayers have been fruitful till now.

He further said that although we have lost our country and we are living in exile in India, but here I have been able to benefit the creatures who are living here in Dharamshala. I intend to benefit and serve as much as possible.

‘Gaden Foddering Trus has the right to recognize the identity of rebirth’
The Dalai Lama said on Wednesday that the tradition of the Dalai Lama would be continued and only the Gaden Fodrang Transain has the right to recognize the identity of rebirth, while on the other hand it is the intention of the Chinese government to implement its rules instead of the current process of selection of the Dalai Lama. It has been said from China that any future Dalai Lama is required to get its approval.

At the same time, Penpa Tsering, the head of Tibet’s exiled government, has strongly opposed China’s intervention in the rebirth case. He said that rebirth is a spiritual process. In such a situation, how can China decide where the next Dalai Lama will be born, then spiritual gurus decide on their own.
