Inspector Sunil Kumar along with his team had laid siege to Chausana Road at around 1.30 am on Monday night. He had received a tip about Arshad’s movement. At around 2 o’clock in the night, a white colored Brezza car was seen coming from Haryana.
The police team signaled to stop the vehicle with torchlight. The driver stopped the car about 150 meters before the police. Arshad, who was present in the car, said to Satish sitting on the driving seat – There is police cordon. Drive the car away as soon as possible. After this, Satish turned the steering and drove the car towards Chausana.
Arshad along with his associates was trying to escape in this white Brezza.
Vehicles kept running, miscreants stuck at dead point Here, Inspector Sunil Kumar also started chasing with the police team. Arshad was ahead and the police was behind. The game of hide and seek continued for 2 Km. The road turned to one side near Udpur kiln. The miscreants reached here, but the road ahead was closed.
The miscreants present in the car with Arshad did not come out of the car, remained sitting inside. He was thinking what to do now? By then STF arrived from behind.
Now Sunil got down from the car and came into attacking position. He hid himself on the side of the car and started taking the location of the miscreants. He asked the miscreants to leave their weapons and come out. There was no response from the miscreants.
Meanwhile, Arshad and other miscreants started firing indiscriminately. Some bullets hit Sunil’s car. The police also opened fire towards the miscreants. The miscreants were so expert that their bullets were coming very close to the policemen. Then two bullets hit Inspector Sunil’s stomach. He fell down bleeding.
Dead bodies were taken out from inside the car. Bullets were also found embedded in the seat.
Driver Satish left the car and ran away firing his pistol. Seeing the team leader falling, the policemen quickly started cordoning off. Meanwhile, in the darkness, a person Arshad was seen getting down from the driving seat of the car and running away. He was shooting with a pistol. STF surrounded the criminal from behind, so that he could not escape.
After firing from both sides for 40 minutes, suddenly the firing from the miscreants stopped. After this the STF and police team made announcements on the mic. But no reply came. The police came out of their respective locations and slowly started moving towards the miscreants. When I went closer, I found three criminals lying bleeding inside the car. The police noticed that his breathing had stopped.
Satish ran away leaving the driving seat and was found at some distance. Police identified the four miscreants killed in the encounter. These include Arshad resident of Saharanpur, Satish resident of Sonipat, Haryana, Manjeet alias Dhilla resident of Karnal and Manbir resident of Karnal. Satish ran away leaving the driver’s seat and was found lying on the roadside some distance away. The police team sent the information about the killing of miscreants in the encounter to Lucknow DGP office and STF headquarters.
The police did not even wear bulletproof jackets There was a reward of Rs 1 lakh on Arshad. STF was searching for him. After finding the location on Monday, 10 STF policemen were chasing the miscreants in two vehicles. Apart from the carbine, the miscreants were also carrying two pistols, two pistols and a country-made gun. The police had no idea that the miscreants had weapons. That’s why no one even wore a bulletproof jacket. This was the reason why Inspector Sunil Kumar could not survive the sudden firing by the miscreants and he was shot in the stomach.
