Mg Comet Blackstorm Price & Features: MG Motors has launched the new Special Edition of its cheapest electric car MG Commit in the Indian market. In this new special edition, the company has made some cosmetic changes and included new smart features which make it better than regular models. The initial price of this new Blackstorm Edition is Rs 7.80 lakh (ex-showroom), which comes with Rs 2.50 per kg of battery rental program.
The biggest change in the look and design of the Commit Blackstorm is that it is decorated on the black-out exterior and interior theme. Which has been completed with red accent. This new color theme gives the car more sporty and bold look. The company has also started official booking of this electric car, which can be booked with a booking amount of Rs 11,000.
It is important to note here that the company has not yet announced the price of this car without prices. Regular model comes at an initial price of Rs 7.50 lakh with BAAS service. Which has been introduced with a battery rental of Rs 2.50 per kg. That is, the blackstorm model is about Rs 30,000 expensive than the regular model.
How is COMET Blackstorm:
‘Starry Night’ exterior paint shed with red colored accents around the Commit Blackstorm’s bumper and fog lamps. On the back side of the car, ‘Com a Com a Comat EV’ and ‘Internet Inside’ badges are also decorated with dark color. Apart from this, customers are also getting the option to choose accessory packages. Which includes ‘blackstorm’ badges on fenders, black-out plastic wheel covers with highlights like ‘Morris Garage’ lettering, red star on a hood made in red colored and diCles on doors.
The black-out theme has also been continued inside with the Black Ladret Undergraduate. In which ‘blackstorm’ is written in red color on the headrest. MG has also updated the sound system, which now comes with 4 speakers instead of 2 available with regular exclusive variants. Obviously, this will make your journey more entertaining.
Battery pack and driving range:
There has been no change in the power and mechanism of the Commit Blackstorm Edition. This car is equipped with lithium-ion battery pack of 17.3kwh capacity as before. Which gives 230 km of driving range in single charge. Its electric motor generates 42 hp of power and 110 newton meters (Nm) torque.
Battery charging:
The company claims that, it takes about 7 hours to charge its battery from the Charger of 3.3KW, while in just 5 hours its battery is charged up to 80%.

Some special features are available in the Commit Blackstorm Edition. It is being given dual 10.25-inch instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment, wireless Android auto, Apple CarPlay, Connected Car Features, LED headlamps and tail-lamps, rear parking cameras, chemicals, keyless locks/unlocked and dual airbags.
The special thing is that this is MG’s first electric car which has got a blackstorm variant. Earlier, the company has launched only petrol-diesel models in Blackstork Edition.
