Phil Spencer clarified that due to these layoffs, no game, device or studio is being closed or canceled. Rather, the company is trying to organize the business in a better way. According to the Chief, this step will support the company’s game studios and business units and these business units will be able to work with greater capacity.

Microsoft will buy Activision Blizzard in 2023 for $69 billion. After that, at the beginning of this year, the company laid off 1900 employees. Now 650 more employees have been laid off. After which 2550 employees have been fired from Microsoft so far this year. If reports are to be believed, the company’s gaming revenue has increased after taking over Activision Blizzard. But Xbox’s other businesses are struggling. Xbox hardware sales have declined.
