Former Delhi cricketer Mithun Manhas has been officially elected as the new president of BCCI. On becoming the president of Manhas, the reaction of his under -19 cricket partner Harbhajan Singh has come. Harbhajan has said that it is a good start of BCCI that he has made a player to a player.
Harbhajan Singh has given a reaction to Mithun Manhas becoming BCCI President. New Delhi. Mithun Manhas was elected the new chairman of the board at the annual general meeting of the Indian Cricket Board. Manhas (45 years) became the 37th president of the board. He replaced Roger Binny, who resigned from the post after completing the age of 70 years last month. Former all-rounder Manhas played 157 first class, 130 List A and 55 IPL matches between 1997–98 and 2016-17. Earlier this month, he was unanimously elected after an informal meeting of top board officials in New Delhi. Manhas have 9714 runs including 27 centuries in first class matches and 4126 runs in List A matches.
The AGM was also confirmed to make Amita Sharma the chairman of the women’s selection panel. She will replace Neetu David. Shyama Dey, Jaya Sharma and Shravanti Naidu have got a place in the selection panel with former fast bowler Amita, who played 116 ODIs for India. Their tenure will begin after the Women’s World Cup to be held in India and Sri Lanka from September 30 to November 2.
