Modi government gift to Bihar, 588 crores for relief from natural disasters – Central Govt Approves Rs 1280 CR to Bihar Himachal Tamil Nadu Puducherry as disaster Assistance LCLK

The Modi government has once again given a big gift to Bihar. A assistance of about 1300 crores has been approved for states affected by natural disasters like floods, cloudburst, landslides and cyclones.

According to the news agency report, the High Level Committee headed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah has approved an additional central assistance of a total of 1280.35 crore to Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

According to the information, out of this amount, 588.73 crore will be given to Bihar, 136.22 crore to Himachal Pradesh, 522.34 crore to Tamil Nadu and 33.06 crore to Puducherry. This assistance is in addition to the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and Union Territory Reaction Fund (UTDRF).

The statement said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central government is standing shoulder to shoulder with states and union territories struggling with natural disaster. During the financial year 2024-25, the central government has issued 20,264.40 crore to 28 states under SDRF, and 5,160.76 crore to 19 states under NDRF. Apart from this, 4984.25 crore has been released from SDMF to 19 states, and 719.72 crore from National Disaster Reduction Fund (NDMF) to 8 states.

The statement also stated that immediately after the disasters, without waiting for any formal memorandum, the Central Government had sent the Inter-Menristial Central Teams (IMCTS) in the respective states to quickly assess the loss. This relief package will not only help the affected people but will also help in further strengthening the structure of disaster management.
