Aurangzeb, who ruled the country for 49 years, built many fort mosques and buildings in India. He was the sixth king of the Mughal Empire.
There is a small mosque inside the Red Fort of Delhi, which is called Moti Masjid. This mosque shining like a pearl was built by Aurangzeb with white marble.
Aurangzeb built Alamgir Mosque in the name of Alamgir in 1669 in Varanasi.
After becoming the king of Delhi, in 1653, Aurangzeb made Fateh Nagar its capital, which he named Aurangabad, which is located in Maharashtra.
In Aurangabad, Aurangzeb built several forts, but on 16 July 2022, Eknath Shinde Sarkar changed the name of this city to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.
There is also a Bibi’s tomb in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, which was built by his son Azam Shah in memory of Aurangzeb’s wife Dilraras Bano Begum.
Aurangzeb also built the Badshahi Mosque in 1673 AD, which is currently located in Lahore.
