Members of the minority community staged a protest at the Park Circus crossing in Kolkata and demanded immediate withdrawal of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025. Traffic in the area was disrupted due to demonstrations and a large number of people gathered on the streets. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has also criticized the BJP for introducing the Waqf Bill and has accused it of trying to divide the country.
