YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who was jailed for Pakistan on charges of espionage, was produced in the court on Monday (4 August 2025) through video conferencing. The court has extended Jyoti’s judicial custody for 14 days. Now the next hearing of this case will be held on 18 August. Meanwhile, Jyoti’s father Harish Malhotra has written a letter to President Draupadi Murmu, describing his daughter as innocent.

Jyoti’s father alleged that the police took the signature of Jyoti on a blank paper and wrote her own statement. In a letter to the President, he said, “Hisar police had issued a press note in writing that my daughter did not have any sensitive information related to the army. The police also put a section of treason on Jyoti, but not a single evidence of this. Now my daughter will never go to Pakistan. I guarantee it.”

He wrote, “Even during the 9 -day remand, the police did not find any evidence against my daughter. In such a situation, it should be removed by the police that the police has imposed the treason. Jyoti Malhotra went to Pakistan in April last year. He then traveled to Thailand in September 2024. After Operation Sindoor, Jyoti was accused of spying for Pakistan. Jyoti has been in jail since 17 May 2025.
