Tourists visiting the city of Sarovar Nainital will now have to loose more pockets than ever before entering Nainital. Because the municipality has increased the toll amount taken at the entrance of Nainital from Rs 120 to Rs 300. While tourists will now have to give 500 for car parking.
Following the High Court order, a special board meeting was organized in the municipality on Friday following the order of the High Court order to cancel the car parking and the lake bridges and to operate the parking and octroi from the municipality itself. In the board meeting chaired by the municipal president Dr. Saraswati Khetwal, vehicles coming from outside in Nainital city have been fixed online for entry, while 500 rupees for cash payers and 500 for car parking, 50 for bike parking.

The municipality decided due to this
Parking of two -wheelers in the Ashok Cinema Hall area has been fixed for the locals. Where the local people will be charged parking fee at the rate of Rs 25 per hour. Giving information, Executive Officer of the municipality Deepak Goswami said that 100 toll tax will be taken from tourists coming to Nainital by bike. Whereas taxi bikes will be charged Rs 1 thousand 300 annually. At the same time, passes will be issued at the rate of 200 per round and Rs 800 per annum from the people of Nainital city.
After verification of departmental documents from people coming to Nainital offices, an annual pass of Rs 5000 will be made. This decision has been taken by the municipality to strengthen its economic condition. Apart from this, a list will be prepared in collaboration with the police administration of the hotel and homestay being operated illegally in Nainital city. From which property tax, cleaning tax and other taxes will be charged. This decision has been taken in the municipal board meeting.
Tourism will be shocked by the decision
This decision will shock tourism. Because at first the tourist will come to all the toll plazas falling on the way to visit Nainital. After this, he will come here and pay the Bridge octroi tax, then under the new decree, you will have to pay 500 rupees per day. At the same time, if it is 1 minute at 11 o’clock, then the second day will be charged.
At the same time, Rs 25 per hour will be charged for the local people. If a local parks his car for 24 hours, then he will have a charge of 25x 24 = 600 rupees at Rs 25 per hour. Here the administration has already issued a decree. Only hotel booking vehicles will get entry in the city. Vehicles of the rest of the people will be stopped in Russian 1 and Russian 2. Here their vehicles will be parked and sent to Nainital through shuttle.
