New Delhi. Bangladesh captain Najmul Hussain Shanto has scored history by scoring a century in both innings of Gaul Test. Shanto has become the first captain of Bangladesh to score a century in both innings of a Test. He did this feat against Sri Lanka on the fifth and last day of the Gaul Test. Shunto led the team in this Test match. He scored a brilliant 148 runs in the first innings, due to which Bangladesh team managed to make a big total. In the second innings, Shanto scored an unbeaten 125 runs.
Bangladesh declared his second innings at 285/6 on the basis of Najmul’s brilliant innings. Bangladesh had scored 495 runs in the first innings. Mushfiqur Rahim also scored 163 runs in the first innings. In response, Sri Lanka scored 485 runs in the first innings. In this, Pathum Nisanka scored an unmatched innings of 187 runs. Sri Lanka has a target of 296 runs to win. Both the centuries of Najmul have come at the right time when questions were being raised on their captaincy in overseas. He became very calm and played a brilliant innings under pressure, which also increased the morale of Bangladesh’s dressingroom. All appreciated his captain.
Veteran all -rounder Angelo Mathews is playing his last Test match. After this he will say goodbye to the Test. Mathews scored 39 runs in the first innings.
