The Karnataka government has increased the price of Nandini milk and curd by Rs 4 per liter. This decision was approved in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Animal Husbandry Minister K.K. Venkatesh said that this step has been taken keeping in mind the cost of encouraging dairy farmers in the state and the cost of milk production. He said that the new price amendment will ensure that its benefits reach the milk producers of the state directly.

These will be new prices

– Toned milk: increased from Rs 42 to Rs 46 per liter
– Homaginated Toned Milk: Rose from Rs 43 to Rs 47 per liter
– Cow milk (green packet): increased from Rs 46 to Rs 50 per liter
– Shubham Milk: Increased from Rs 48 to Rs 52 per liter
– Curd: Increased from Rs 50 to Rs 54 per liter

There will be an increase from 1 April

Karnataka Cooperative Minister KN Rajanna said that from April 1, milk prices in the state will increase by Rs 4 per liter. He said that prices have been increased due to pressure from milk associations and farmers. Addressing reporters, he said that Doodh Sangh has decided to increase prices. They were demanding an increase of Rs 5 per liter, the government agreed to this and decided to increase by Rs 4 from 1 April. Farmers should get the entire 4 rupees increased. This increase in milk prices has been done in view of bus and metro fare as well as increase in electricity rates.

KMF also increased prices last year

According to PTI, earlier Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) President Bhima Naik also indicated the possibility of increase in milk prices. The Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) sells its dairy products under the ‘Nandini’ brand. In 2024, KMF had increased milk prices by Rs 2 per packet and increased by 50 ml per packet.

KMF says that the price increase in 2024 was not an increase, as the amount of milk supplied also increased. Currently, the price of 1.050 ml regular Nandini toned milk (blue packet) is Rs 44.
