Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived on Saturday (October 04, 2025) on a tour of Bastar in Chhattisgarh. This tour was historic in many ways. Amit Shah first offered prayers at Maa Danteshwari temple and sought blessings from mother to make Bastar Naxal-free.
After this, he joined the important ritual of Bastar Dussehra, where he met the heads of Bastar Dussehra Committee and all the village heads according to tradition and heard the problems of their villages and instructed the administration to resolve immediately.
Promise of electricity, road and water in every village of Bastar
Amit Shah assured the prominent Majhi drivers of Bastar Dussehra that by 2031, every village in Bastar will have electricity, road and water. There will be all -round development of this village and the Chhattisgarh government is giving an amount of one crore rupees for the development of those villages which are becoming Naxalite free and development works are being done in the village with this amount. He said that till the year 2031, there will be no such village in Bastar division, where electricity has not reached.
Chief Minister Rural Bus Scheme launched
After joining the Muria Darbar, Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived at the Swadeshi fair of Bastar Dussehra Festival at Lalbagh Maidan and visited the stall in this fair. Along with this, he flagged off 36 passenger buses under bus service started in more than 250 Naxal -affected villages of seven districts under the Chief Minister Gramin Bus Yojana. With the introduction of this bus service, now more than 250 villagers will be able to connect with the headquarters through bus service.
Amit Shah’s big announcement about Bastar
Addressing the public from the platform of Bastar Festival here, the Home Minister said, ‘I have come to pray to Maa Danteshwari that Bastar should be completely Naxal -free by 31 March 2026. Give so much strength to our soldiers that they end this red terror forever. He said that some people sitting in Delhi say that the fight for development and Naxalism is going on in Bastar, but now Bastar is moving firmly on the path of development.
He told, ‘facilities like electricity, toilets, drinking water, health insurance and ration are reaching every house here. Amit Shah said that no one was well with Naxalism. The youth who have gone on this path, should return to the mainstream. The surrender policy of Chhattisgarh is the best in the country. More than 500 Naxalites have surrendered in Bastar division in the last one month.

He also said that one crore rupees are being given for the development of those villages who will be Naxal -free. The Home Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given four lakh 40 thousand crore rupees for the development of Chhattisgarh in 10 years and due to this, Bastar is moving fast in the fields of education, health and small scale industries.
He warned the Naxalites that you are welcome if you put up arms, but if you try to harm Bastar, then our armed forces will give a befitting reply. Naxalism will be abolished from this earth by 31 March 2026.
Honor of Bastar’s culture and pride
Describing Bastar Dussehra as the world’s biggest festival, the Home Minister said that this 75 -day festival is a symbol of Bastar’s cultural power. He said that the Rath Yatra, which has been going on since the 14th century, is not just a tradition, but the identity of Bastar.
Mata Danteshwari’s chariot is difficult to make Lord Jagannath
Amit Shah said that when he came to know the chariot construction process from Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, he came to know that making the chariot of Mata Danteshwari is more difficult than the chariot of Lord Jagannath. Here, after dialogue with tribal public representatives in Muria Darbar, Home Minister Amit Shah dinner with Manjhi-Chalki and tribal heads.
He said that Muria Durbar is an example of the roots of democracy. This dialogue tradition, which has been since 1874, is still alive, this is the real power of Bastar. After this, the Home Minister also had food with the heads of Manjhi Chalki and Bastar Dussehra Committee.
