‘Need to resolve some issues with America, Sayashankar’s big statement on trade deal and tariff


Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar gave detailed information on the current status of relations between India and America in KEC 2025. He said that at present there is disagreement between India and America over business issues. Jaishankar clarified that there is no final agreement between the two countries so far in the trade discussion, due to which the US has implemented some tariffs on India, which India has publicly united.

He said that another tariff has been implemented with energy sources from Russia. Jaishankar said that other countries, whose relations with Russia are more complex or challenging, have done this type of purchase. He said, “These issues need to be resolved and India is actively working on it.”

Update on quad

Dr. Jaishankar said that this year there have been two meetings of foreign ministers of Quad countries, in which the first meeting was held soon after President Trump came to power. He emphasized the stability and strength of the Quad and said, “Quad is alive and active. At such a time it is necessary to evaluate the challenges responsibly. We should avoid both excesses- neither the problem should be completely denied nor any situation should be considered extremely frightening.”

Jaishankar also clarified during this period that India wants a solution to problems through positive diplomacy and dialogue and platforms like Quad play an important role in these efforts. According to him, it is very important to maintain international cooperation and stability of agreements at the present time, especially amidst global instability.
