Both the family members wanted this marriage to take place secretly. Complete planning of the wedding was done 2 months in advance. Uncle Surendra booked the resort in Solan. Not only this, a Pandit was found for the pheras and wedding rituals, who did not even know Neeraj. He also had a phone with a keypad. Therefore, it fit exactly as per the planning. While searching for Pandits, Neeraj’s photo was shown. Most of the pundits knew Neeraj.
After Neeraj’s post everyone came to know about the marriage. Girls used to message Neeraj saying that they are fasting for 16 Mondays for him, they want to marry him. Messages also came on social media from some girls that they had lost faith in God. Even on the night of 19 January, a girl came to the village and talked about marrying Neeraj. After this she left.
3 important things about uncle Surendra Chopra…
1. Neeraj-Himani had asked for marriage permission Surendra Chopra told that both Neeraj and Himani are athletes. Both have known each other for a long time. When both of them felt that they should get married now, they first told the family and asked for permission. After this the rapport between the two families increased. It took about 2 months for both the families to agree. Only after this the talks were taken forward. When the marriage was finalized, both the families prepared the plans for the marriage.
Neeraj wished that the marriage should take place in the country itself. For this we talked to the agency. The agency said that if no one gets a clue about the marriage, then the marriage will have to take place abroad. To conduct a marriage in the country, the agency said it would cost around Rs 2 crore per day. Didn’t even guarantee the confidentiality of the marriage. After this he himself made a plan to get married secretly.
2. Deposit mobile phones, put tape on CCTV cameras
Professional photographers were also booked from South for the wedding. A condition was also placed before him that he would not use the mobile. Both the families were first taken to a hotel in Chandigarh. Where first everyone was informed about some confidential instructions related to marriage. After this, everyone’s mobile phones including that of the photographer were also deposited here.
After this they reached Surya Vilas luxury resort built in Gandhigram adjacent to Kumarhatti in Solan district of Himachal. Here also a condition was laid that the talk of marriage should not go out in any way. For this, even the mobile phones of the staff personnel were deposited. All the CCTV cameras of the hotel were also taped, so that the wedding was not recorded and the marriage was solemnized secretly.
After getting married, we believed that not only the agency, but we too can do it. Saved crores of rupees spent on marriage. Along with this, a strong message was given against the dowry system by taking one rupee shagun.
3. Himani stayed in Panipat in-laws house for 14 hours The family did not let even the neighbors know about the marriage. After the farewell, the marriage procession returned to Chopra’s residence in Khandra village of Panipat. Himani remained here for about 14 hours. All customs were completed. The ritual of finding the ring was also performed at home. Ancestors were also worshipped.
Himani stayed at home for so long, but no one had any idea and then left from there. Their honeymoon is for 7 days. After this they will go to their respective training.
Surendra also said that the family had also started feeling that Neeraj was now of marriageable age. Marriage has been done so that no mistake should be made at young age, no allegations should be made.
