New Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar took over in place of Rajiv Kumar, know what he said

CEC Gyanesh Kumar: The new Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Dnyanesh Kumar has taken over on Wednesday (February 19, 2025). He has taken this post in place of Rajiv Kumar. He will remain in this position for the next 4 years. Along with this, there are many types of challenges in front of him, in which it is prominent to gain the trust of the opposition. At the same time, Election Commissioner Vivek Joshi has also taken over his post.

These appointments have been made at a time when the Supreme Court is going to hear the petitions challenging the appointments of the Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioners under the 2023 law on 19 February. Gyanesh Kumar will oversee the elections to be held in the last of this year and the elections to be held in West Bengal, Assam and Tamil Nadu next year.
