A new working group will be formed

A working group will be formed on Saturday. The group will include CEC and board members. Its main task will be to suggest the method of qualification for the 2028 Olympics. The ICC believes that teams can be selected on the basis of ranking, but the ICC headed by Jai Shah has left the decision to the working group.

Some people are suggesting a qualification tournament, but it is difficult due to the lack of time and the busy Future Tour Program (FTP). Nevertheless, the group will be asked to examine all possible options. If there is a suggestion of qualification based on the ranking, then the group will also have to tell the last date for the ranking.

International players will be at least 15 years old

The meeting headed by the new CEO Sanjog Gupta also stated that the minimum age of international players would be 15 years, as suggested by the Medical Advisory Committee of the ICC. However, exemption can be given in special circumstances.

6 Men’s and 6 Women’s teams will participate in the Olympics

Only 6 male and 6 women teams will participate in the Olympics.
