Protest against elon musk: A major protest was seen outside the Tesla dealership on Saturday (March 1) in New York City, opposing the widespread cuts in the federal workforce under the orders by Allen Musk and President Donald Trump. Nine people were arrested in this protest.
The demonstration was held under the name “Tesla Techdown”, which was part of protests across the country targeting Musk. Musk, who has been appointed as the head of the Department of Department of Government Efficiency – DOGE, is running a big campaign to shorten the federal government.
Slogans and demands of protesters
During the protest, the protesters raised slogans like “Tesla burn: save democracy” and “no dictator in the United States”. There were also demonstrations in New York as well as in cities like Jacksonville, Florida and Tuxon, Arizona, where protesters staged a sit-in in front of the Tesla showroom and blocked traffic.
Sorting from federal employees’ jobs
The result of this deduction campaign being led by Allen Musk is that about 100,000 employees of the federal government have been fired or forced to resign. It also includes nuclear weapons related employees, scientists fighting outbreaks like bird flu and officials of power supply.
Outrage against Tesla and Musk
The organizers of the protest have called upon people to eliminate Tesla’s stock and join the dharna lines on the website ActionNetwork.org. Actor and filmmaker Alex Winter said, “Separating Musk from Tesla will be a meaningful shock against this administration and its privileges.”
The role of Musk and Trump
Since taking charge of Trump, Musk has been making an important role in Trump administration and following Trump’s orders to cut the federal workforce, creating resentment in a large section of the public. Due to this protest, Musk and his major company Tesla are facing public anger.
