Nia Filed Chargesheet Against PFI Member Who Gave Shelter to Man Accused In Professor Hand Chopping Ann

Charge Sheet Against PFI Member: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday (February 17, 2025), the famous Professor of Kerala, T.J. Joseph has filed a charge sheet against another accused in the case of cutting hands. The charge sheet has been filed against PFI member Shafir C, who is accused of sheltering the main accused Savad.

Savad is the person who attacked the professor. Shafir gave him a place to hide, provided jobs under fake identity and provided other facilities. Savad was charged in this case in 2011.

Hand was cut to insult Prophet Mohammed

This is the case of 2010, when former head of Malayalam Department of Pneumon College in Idukki district, Professor T.J. Joseph was attacked. It was alleged that he had allegedly insulted Prophet Mohammed in a question paper of the college examination. On this, a group of PFI activists attacked him at Muvatupuzha in Ernakulam district, cut his hand and escaped by throwing bombs to spread panic there.

19 people have been convicted so far

So far, a total of 19 people have been convicted in this case, in which all PFI leaders or workers are said to be. All 19 convicts are being told to have a banned organization PFI. Shafir C has been accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and illegal activities (prevention) Act (UAPA).

NIA action will continue

Even though 19 people have been convicted, the investigation of NIA is going on in this case. The NIA says that action will continue against the conspirators and colleagues of the attack.
